Palette battle: Sephora IT Palette in nude vs. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Hello everyone!

Today it is time for a palette battle:
I want to show you an eyeshadow palette which I got during my last holidays at Sephora, as the titel says the Sephora IT Palette and I also want to compare it to the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette which I am using on a daily basis since about 1 year.

I went to Sephora cause I wanted to get the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette but it was completely sold out. So I went through Sephora and found the last piece of the IT Palette in nude and I had to take it.

The palette is from the colors similar to the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. Both palettes include 12 colors: highligthers, brown, grey, bronze, shimmery, matte and darker colors. The Naked 2 has a very beautiful gold shade named "half baked" (one of my all time favourite color) - the Sephora IT Palette doesn't have any comparable golden color in it but it has two rosé colors that are very nice, which you don't have in the Naked 2 Palette. (If you are looking for something rosé you would have to buy the Naked 3 Palette).

I did color swatches for you guys where you can see that both palettes contain shimmery and matte shades from light to dark. You can do a lot of different looks with both palettes from natural daytime make up up to smokey eyes, nighttime or clubbing make up. I do love neutral colors in general that's why I absolutely had to get this palette.

I noticed that the pigmentation of the Naked 2 Palette is better than the pigmentation of the Sephora IT Palette but for me it is ok to use.

Packagingwise is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette in a very solid metal tin box. I leave mine open all of the time cause I have problems with closing it. I always have to press it very hard together to be able to close it which bothers me a lot to be honest. With the Naked 2 Palette you get a synthetic hair eyeshadow brush and a mini version of the Naked Lipgloss. They eyeshadow brush is quite ok, but I still prefer to use my Sigma eyeshadow blending brush because the results get smoother. The mini lipgloss is very very minty tasting, which is not everybody's thing. The minty smell was so intensive that my boyfriend asked me: what is smelling so weird in here? *lol* You can guess that I am not wearing that gloss anymore after this. The color of the gloss is very neutral, fitting to the palette, but it doesn't blow me away because if I would wear any no-name shiny gloss it would look the same.
The Sephora IT Palette has a elegant brown reptile-leather look packaging with a comfy magnetic closure, it is very easy to open and close it compared to my Naked 2 Palette. With this palette you also get an eyeshadow brush and also a brown eyeliner pencil. Again here I don't use the eyeshadow brush, because I always use my Sigma eyeshadow blending brush. The brown eyeliner pencil is pretty, but when it comes to duration I already had better ones, but it is ok. The eyeliner pencil make much more sense for me than the very strong minty lipgloss.
The Sephora IT Palette has a protection sheet over they eyeshadows on which is marked where and how to use which shadow. I think this is very helpful and a nice little detail that the Naked Palettes don't feature in genreal.

For the Sephora IT Palette I paid 32,- US Dollars which is awesome in comparison to the Naked 2 Palette which is sold for 52,- US Dollars.

The bottom line is that my personal winner is the Naked 2 Palette because the pigmentation of the eyeshadows is better than the pigmentation of the Sephora IT Palette, but I also like to use the IT Palette again and again, so I can recommend both palettes.

If you are on a smaller budget and you don't want to spend 52 or more Dollars for a nice nude eyeshadow palette then you can definately buy the Sephora IT Palette, you get a lot of pretty shades for a good price.

I really hope that you like my little review from today and I wish you guys a great remaining day!

Read you next time!
Lots of love,
Eva

Hallo liebe Leute!

Mein Fazit:

Eva

that is great to hear. I have the naked 2 and naked 3, but don't have the naked 1.
Would you think there is much difference between naked 1 and 2 ?
